Infantry Officer visor - rare maker?

This just came in today from a vet's estate. I am really happy with it, minus the fact that the sweatband is gone. It's a size 57 made by "Helvefia - Ges Gesch" and I haven't seen that one before (which isn't saying much). The visor has lots of crazing on the outside and indentations from the chin cord. There is no mothing or staining to the coarse wool body, and the insignia seems late war. I am going to sell this one at the SOS, so I'd be grateful for your thoughts on it's value. - Thanks! Mike

      Hallo Mike

I see a common label from Friedrich Schweitzer of Koblenz.

      best regards

I still like the cap, despite the missing sweatband. Perhaps a late war model, or an nco upgrade?

How much does the missing sweatband deduct from the value? The cap is in perfect shape otherwise (except for crazing on the visor).

              Thanks - Mike

I wouldn't discount it too much as it displays nicely from the outside and there are some talented people out there who could 'restore' it with a sweatband from a cap that is not too pretty from the outside perhaps.
