    Luft Forestry

Just playing with the camera, so thought I'd take a couple photos of a Forestry cap. These used to be around, but I haven't seen one in a while.

Fabulous piece, Leroy--I have always wanted one of these babies, but the ones I have examined were forestry re-works--thanks for posting this--a refreshing change from all that Feldgrau!

                  Hi,
Hermann Goering was chief of "forestry and hunting" in the Reich and actually spearheaded some environmental work still being carried on today. Some forestry areas (particularly those where Hermann liked to hunt!) came under direct Luftwaffe control, with Luftwaffe personnel serving as foresters. I believe that standard forestry tabs, but with black background, were used by these personnel, although I have seen standard green used, as well. I've got a Luft forestry privately tailored fliegerbluse in green, with the standard Luft breast eagle, except embroidered on green.
I'm sure we must have other members who know a lot more than me in this area, especially some of our dagger collectors!
                  Best,
                  Leroy

                    Hi Leroy,
what a great cap! Nice to see an original LW bullion wreath for forestry personnel.
Could You please send some pics of the LW forestry Fliegerbluse (Waldbluse)?
Just have a discussion in a german militaria forum about LW forestry Waldblusen.
Would be great if you could show it here.
                    Many Thanks
                    Stefany

LW and Heer forestry personnel wore according to the regulations black collar tabs and shoulderboards. Before 1938/39 Military forestry personnel wore same uniform as the national forestry (green shoulderboards), but with breast eagle and special visor cap insignia.
                      Regards
                      Stefany
