skull arrived, assisstance please

here is my $50 investment, I am hoping they are real. They should be, as it was in a bunch of other wwii stuff i purchased. Pleease let me know. The pics arent the greatest, i had to use my old camera. I just bought a new one but they wont upload. If anyone knows how to fix this, I can show a lot better pics.

The tan thread is the leader thread,used to pull the insignia through the machine during the manufacture.

Someone else can probably explain the manufacturing process better.
