    Late War Erel ??

    Hello,
I got this today and there's some issues I'm concerned about. Overall it looks good to me but it has a added green band over a grey band as if it was a Sonderfuhrer.
Also the chinstrap is a low quality..All opinions welcome..thanks

                    A good one!

                    Hi Karl,

I'm NOT a cap expert, but having said that I really like this cap.

This is a classic example of a late war Erel Sonderfuehrer made into a Propaganda Kompanie visor circa 1944.

The use of a dark green cap band (cover) is not a big deal and was often done with Police visors.

The pot metal / zince insignia are a nice touch. Is the chinstrap erstaz leather (a kind of laqueres paper)?

                    MfG,

                    Diane

Thanks Diane, yes the chinstrap is that type and is very thin.

Lets see, Late war with the metal flake maker logo?

Looks odd that the forehead cushion is way more to one side then the other. It's realy hard to see in the pic.

                        What's the visor made of?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Looking forward hearing the experts on this one. Looks like no cross hatching on bill, chinstrap looks like a repro.

Yes, I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this one Kreager your correct the front of the sweat band is off center. And Lasse there is some cross hatching on underside but only on about 1/4 of visor.
Was the quality really this bad on late war Erels?
