    Luft Mountain? Cap Opinions

I would like opinions on this cap which (if original) seems to pre-date the M43 cap by a few years. I have shown the eagle before but not the full cap. Thanks!

The stamps, which are faint and hard to photograph are:
              L.B.A.B. 41
              57
and a company name which is difficult to make out.
As I said, there are no grommets...

Well John, the insignia is authentic. The cap's button is atypical as is the lack of grommets. An early cap as this would also likely have a cotton lining. This is one I would like to see in person.
                Regards,
                John

I believe Jos has shown one with a similar button on Post 60 of this thread -- although his has grommets..

I believe the zig zag stitching of the cockade is rather unusual isn't it?

Less common for sure Harry, but some cockade were indeed applied this way.

Looks like a nice original cap.

Have wear on the right spot.

I never have quite figured this out but there is a billed luftwaffe cap for the sports kit listed in the clothing regs.. this may well be in the bergmutze style and go even earlier than the 1941 date.. I LIKE your cap more than I dont ...Billbert

Looks like the female version of the billed cap. But, should not have the cockade.
