Mike, I assume you're including the Kriegsmarine Tropical visor as a Meyer style. The KM tropical is a cap I'd love to own.

I don't think that the dealer who had the cap I posted knew it was fake, as I think the price tag was somewhere around $5000. I'm going to try and track down the one I think I remember from the museum. No promises...

          Gen. Lt. Menney

A grouping came out of Germany in about '91 and allegedly sold off by his daughter.
Within the 'grouping' was his war diary, tunics, 1 regular visor and 2 'AK / tropical visors. One of the tropical visors was a 'crush type' made by Erel and the other AK was a regular type also supposedly made by Erel. Along with the grouping was a huge amount of letters sent to the Gen. by his wife Frau Herta and (his) responses. Within the letter were many dating from when he was a POW of the French, English and his petitions to be sent to an American camp.
Quite an impressive 'grouping' with family ties.

I bought 2 caps (reg. and Trop) but lost track of the 'crush type'...

The AK cap I bought was shown in Field Uniforms of Germany's Pzr. elite by Edwards and Pruett. Soon after publication I discovered the cap to be a 're-upholstered' fake. Long story short it went back to the innocent seller...

            interior....

The AK caps were pretty well crunched, musty and dirty...very convincing!
