These next pics are from the legendary collection of Gunther Henneking, a former Bundesbahn employee who collected railway uniforms and insignia from all over the world, but primarily Reichsbahn/Bundesbahn.

I am proud to have one of his hats residing in my collection.

From his book: Imperial Saxony on the left, Imperial Bavarian on the right:

The top row were worn until 1918.

The bottom row are for the Reichsbahn, 1924-1934. He collected only the best.

These visor are often re-badged and sold as Third Reich. However, they are all BRD Bundesbahn, and were only worn from 1950-1957:

The hat I own (post #50 in this thread) is the 3rd from the left in this pic. Herr Henneking was an excellent caretaker of his collection--the hat is still in mint condition.

Impressive collection from Herr Henneking, the way he displays his caps goes to show all the concerns over properly displaying and storing visor caps are just a myth.

Two new caps from the Reichsbahn for my collection, Field Grey and winter hat.

Just when you think you have seen it all, Bahnschutz puts this on the Estand. It is a standard M-41 DRB visor but with a gray wool body--completely unreferenced (as far as I am aware.)

Perhaps worn late in the war by the Ostbahn?:

(& if I had to venture a guess, I would say the hat was made by Drechsler)

Yea, I saw this too and at 900 I was going to scoop it up but alas I was too late.

I guess if I had any concerns, it would be why he chose not to take a clear pic of the inside.
