Is this Schirmmütze "good" or "bad"?

      I agree--with the better pix, looks like a re-line and re-pipe, but I believe the body of the hat to be original. Here is a postwar logo:

        On the other hand, now that I look at Kurts visor again, it does appear to have the felt stirndruckfrei insert of Clive's--Kurt, can you post a pic with the Sweatband in its normal position?

          Hi stonemint... here is a picture with the sweatband in normal position. To me it looks like what you were describing...

            Ah - well - that certainly changes things (good call stonemint); however, what's up with that area at the back of the sweatband that appears to have an added section (of the fabric ring, not the leather)?

              Hello Lignemaginot... this indeed looks confusing in those photos. The following pics hopefully just reveal what I'm thinking: it's simply a lose sweatband...
