Absolutely, I've seen it more on Luft M43's than Heer but I think that doesn' t really mean anything. The weight of stitches on the insignia looks right to my eyes..
What really throwed me is the extra stitching on the flaps though, why would that be? Your boss has just bollocked you for not sewing properly so you do it twice and in a different coloured thread just to make a point? maybe...
Looking at it again, the sewing on the flaps seems to stop in one thread and start again in another colour. The crown stitching is hopeless as well so maybe it's a true Friday at 4.50pm job?

[quote=Mike Dalton;2269357]Interesting the way the thread lines for the insignia go all the way through the top edge of the cap. Havn't encountered that before.

yes bilbert as i mentioned earlier in the thread i have several heer caps like that this one just sticks out a tad more because the insignia is slightly lower, and as Ben stated it must have been made on a friday before quiting time a few slopy stitching line is ok ?or maybe they were getting pounded by bombs ,and the extra line of stitching to front side turn by the button reinforcement doesn't bother me i have another with this feature and is quite a salty dog i will show it to you some time.NOTE the insignia is original with a flaw in the weave thats why the eagles body looks a little strange thanks for the replys.
