SA Kepi: Gruppe Warthe

After years of collecting primarily Wehrmacht, I got my first SA kepi this year, for Schlesian (Silesia). I have always had a thing for lids made in or designated for the eastern reaches of the Reich--so when this baby came up, I had to have it--they are like potato chips--you can't have just one:

This Gruppe was carved out of parts of Poland. The color is cornflower blue (ultra-marine), one of the sharpest SA colors (imho):

Not quite stonemint, but about as minty as one will find nowadays--these SA kepis don't hold-up well over time, and are usually crushed:

This is a summer-weight cotton kepi, not a wool one (which are very hard to find for this Gruppe):

Unlike the early Kepis, the flaps on these are sewn shut, and are really just decorative:

As I understand it (and I am no SA expert) Oberrhein also used this Gruppe color--the Headgear book says both Warthe and Oberrhein used a silver button. Oberrhein was also created in 1941 out of Baden and Elsass (Alsace). Why I believe this is Warthe is the either Museum or Film #'s on the inside:
