Correct. He was a member of the 44th Infantry Division. Their colors were red white red and they were established on 1 April 1938 shortly after the annexation of Austria from elements of the Austrian army. Destroyed at Stalingrad and reconstituted as the became the Reichsgrenadier-Division Hoch- und Deutschmeister .

The visor came with his tunic. J

The Hoch und Deutschmeister was one of the elite regiments of the old KuK armee with a lineage going back centuries. 44.ID was heavily composed of Viennese troops. When the casualty lists from Stalingrad began to fill the local newspapers, it really brought home the war to the Austrian people.
