Hi Carlo, what you have here is an original CW lining and sweatband put into a reproduction cap IMHO. The signs are all there but I am too lazy to write a story today.

Carlo, while I agree with others regarding this cap I have a greater concern!

You have indicated a 'trade' took place w/ a dealer and it seems that you might have traded good, original caps for (some) that have problems and at very least questions.

I hope that you didn't trade good for bad in effort to obtain a few supposed 'exotic' items.
              Regards,
              Dave

That would be my verdict as well. In one photo you can cearly see the stitching holding the s-band on going over the top of the V stitching that joins the s-band and beading.

Exactly, and also empty holes in the lining along with a forced re-pleating.

                    Don't worry ,Dave,
no trade ,it is an old visor ,I got many yars ago,
and put aside because I don't believe on it.
                    Cheers

I agree with you ,i suspected this ,but I thought it could be a good cap.

Geez! I have to be about half gun-shy to post an opinion!
But kindly refer to points 2-10 on a previous thread for mine.
I actually like the looks of the piping more on this one.

First thing that stuck out to me in the first pic was the lack of padding around the top ring of piping--real CW's are nicely padded....

It was probably a nice Heer Artillery or Infantry CW before someone ripped the guts out of it and put it into this cap .

How about the direction of the wool
