To The New Collectors. This Kepi Looks As Though It Was Made Yesterday-which It Was. 62+ Years Have Passed Since The 3rd Reich Fell. Any Cloth Item Should Show Some Aging To The Material Just From The Pollution In The Atmosphere. If It Looks This New, It Likely Is.
Secondly, If You Are Going To Lay Out Good Money To Buy A Piece Like This, Atleast Study What The Materials Comprising The Artifact Should Look Like. The Tresse On This Hat Has No Resemblence To Any Period Made Kepi. Note This Example

I had no luck recently with one which was posted here and found to be a repro. Thank god I was able to return it to the dealer.

Now I was offered this one for $1.100,- US. Any opinion would be appreciated very much!

BAD! BAD! BAD! AS BOB SAID, EVEN IF IT'S A MINTY CAP, THIS ONE IS REALY TOO MINTY

The NSKK front button could be OK...

Here with 2 unissued NSKK officer kepis, even if they are Mint, more than 60 years in a storage have left their prints..

          Dear Bob & Pascal,

Thank you for your replies. I really do appreciate your support! It seems to be hard to find an original NSKK kepi. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

In addition, the construction and interior is improperly made--wrong lining material, wrong diamond material, wrong sweatband material, fantasy RZM label, the proportions are off, and so on. I would say that from the outside, it's not a bad copy--the fabrics are somewhat odd but the overall appearance is not bad for sitting on a shelf or for use in a film, the tresse at least has the correct style of zigzag pattern, grommets are not bad, but the closer you look, the worse it gets, and as soon as it's flipped over, it's all over!

Thanks, Erich, for your reply. I really do appreciate your help.

I am not familiar with headgear as I do collect mainly edged weapons only. It is great to post pictures of items one is not familiar with and getting valuable response. Thanks everybody!

Pascal & Bob, would you mind to post some pictures of the inside of your original kepis? It would help me (and for sure others) very much to get a better impression how an original kepi should look inside. Thanks in advance for your efforts!
