Fireman feldmutze : wartime or post?

Today I got this hat as a gift. The person who gave it to me said it was for Firemen, but cannot date it.
It has traces of a front patch but that is all I know about it.
    Any help is welcome

It looks like the ghost shadow of a police bevo eagle on the front at one time but i think its post war...Billbert
If not maybe its a water police cap

With the removal of the sweat shield diamond and sweat band tells me its been tampered with to hide something... like post war synthetic materials, so most likelynot war time.... Also the golden buttons don't make sense for war time fire... Where's the carmine piping? Maybe water police but most likely something 1950's...

it did not come from a collector, hence no tampering. the brim has been retistitched as well, because it somebody heavily wore it. But it is impossibile to say if the person that gave it to me had it from the war or bought it in the 50's somewhere. There is a front shadow of a trapezoid/triangle patch.
the buttons are solid (not cave).
