There's something about the piping material that just doesn't sit right with me. Maybe a close up of the piping would help but from what I see on my screen it leaves doubts. Also, no biggie but isn't that a Luft chin strap?

I know what you are saying about the piping. It is twisted cord. I have seen that type before. Or do you see something else?

It's very hard to tell in the pics but does the exterior match the interior wear? As for the waffenfarbe, doesn't it look a bit off. To Dark of an orange? Or do we just need better pics?

About the chinstrap,there is some kind of "myth" that army visors should have chinstraps with the square buckles on it,and luft.visors the oval buckles.....well,this is a fairytale, check some books about headgear and check the war-time pics of the men wearing visors....

The square buckles were also used by the luftwaffe and the oval by the army.
So that's no problem.

But,you have a sharp eye for detail

Om my monitor the waffenfarbe almost looks to be copperbrown. The recruiting visors and uniforms I have had, had a much more orange appearance. Possibly it is only the digital photos and LDR can answer the color question since he has it in hand. Nice cap, even nicer if its copperbrown!

Thanks all for the answers. It does look copper brown on some of the photos, though i suspect this is due to the darkness.
Unfortunately i dont have this in hand, but when i do i will post more photos.

At least for now i have a fair idea if its ok or not, thanks guys!
