Just catching up on some old posts!
We have an insoluble problem with colours on Forums in that as soon as you post a picture the colour becomes a matter of the quality of the camera, the photographer, your computer etc. etc.

I have a good chart from the now-defunct British version of Militaria, published in February 1994...there must be others out there who also have this. Page 14 gives a very helpful colour chart which I am posting, but subject, of course to my original provisos!

The 'ticks' are those I had in my collection at one time or another, sadly now not many left!

It is as DonC said in his post, a pleasure to work with a collecting colleague such as yourself who has asked questions and noticed in the item the answers. Many people would argue and lose the opportunity to get rid of a bad one.

From your posts, we have all learned some interesting and very useful techniques to spot a few better knock ups.

You have a marvelous collection of caps and a super Lufty goblet. Keep posting your future finds.

      all the best JT

      Hi
Thanks JT for kind words and great support.

      Best regards

Violet is the colour named in Wim Saris' book on Headgear of the Army, as does Davis in his Army Uniforms book.
