Luft Tropical OS Cap...In Blue

Guys:

This just came in today. I think it's mis-sized. The eagle appears to be original to the cap. The liner says 57 but I think it's more like a 55 (then again, there is a 5 next to the 5 so maybe they realized their error). Any ideas on the "waxy" finish on the liner?

Comments, opinions, etc are welcome.

Nice original cap! One question though: isn't that considered a light weight mechanic's cap and therefor it should not have a cockade? or does that strictly apply to black (mechanics) caps?
and because this is a blue version, therefor designed as a field cap for summer wear and both insignia are correct in this case, right ? I guess so...Really neat! Nick

Mechanics caps were black HBT and had a distinctive weave to them. This cap is of blue denim, just like the tropical tunic.

I have one of these caps by Berolina, and they are really quite rare. Mine is quite a lot lighter grey/blue than this example. Perhaps Gene might post a quickie pic of mine for comparison, if he still has the files to hand? Mark.
