    W-SS officer question

Has anybody ever seen one W-SS officer with RZM marked visor and the inliner has the style from the Allg. visors with the runes in the circle? Doesn't make much sence to me as I expect there for a Kleiderkasse visor what shouldn't have then these markings. I have no pictures as all this was just in a phone conversation over 4400 miles distance, but as I said sounds like bogus to me.

I know that early VT/Waffen SS EM's caps can have the visor stamp and runes in the lining, but I've never seen it in an officer's cap. Very rarely, Allg. officer's caps can be found with the visor stamp and runes in the lining, so I imagine its possible that early gray officer's caps could, in theory, have these features. When the gray visors first appeared on the scene, I doubt that they felt a need to mark/line them differently from the black ones being made...

I've seen one or two genuine ones but only ever in photos. I wouldn't discount it based on this description. Actualy, I would be very excited, they just don't make grey repros with runes on the lining. Do you know what colour the lining is?

Maybe it is a contract em/nco VT that was upgraded to officer by changing the cord?

          Robert,
Sometime ago I was offered an early grey SS-VT officer's cap with a complete off-white RZM interior with runics and tag under the sweatband. I can't remember whether the visor had a stamp. I will revisit the photographs and check.
I do remember that it was very convincing and now resides in an important collection.
I think the cap I saw dated from about 1936/37.
I have never found a period photo of an interior that confirms this configuration but I wouldn't rule it out.

I Saw One Such Hat Very Many Years Ago That I Considered To Be Correct. I Am Certain That This Configuration Would Only Be Found In Gray Officer Hats Of The S S V T And The Totenkopfverbund

It would be from one VT estate, and I remember one offered from Bill S. some years ago.

Yes, they do exist. I saw one, many years ago. The lining was off cream-white, not yellow, with the gold embossed runics, under the diamond. The visor had the stamp. I wonder where it ever went??????? Of course, many of yesteryear's treasures never surfaced again.
