Fan-frickin-tastic Steve!!!!!! Steve, I have been doing a bit of research for my book on these fake Erel’s. I have them narrowed down to three main groups. As in three different hands that I believe were making these. Let me ask you this. Did you find the sweatband was sewn back in the visor or was it glued? If my research is heading in the right direction this faker sewn them in. That untreated cardboard pasteboard and black grommet is another hallmark of this faker. It is NOT out of a period cap.
