M34 side cap - original or fake?

I think the cocade is a possible reproduction. Both insignia are sloppily applied, which is not what you would want to see. The color of the wool is too brown tinted. There should be two threads securing the front flap. And lastly, for a 1940 dated cap, you would expect to see a waffenfarbe soutache.
I would pass and wait for a better example.

Was looking at old threads and came across this

This cap would appear to be an orginal period cap with some wear which has had the soutache and original badges removed then someone has roughly re-applied field grey badges probably after the war.

I do not think this should br written off as a fake and to be quite frank, I kind of like the way the soutach has been removed with just the inner bits remaining. Quite typical of one altered to comply with the July/ August orders of 1942.

What do others think,
