      Nice visor! The early bullion eagle is rarely seen, really great quality
      Looks like a tailored piece to me and not one of the major makers IMO.

        Matt, with all due respect 'tailors' didn't make visor caps just as jeweler's didn't Knight's Crosses

        That's been the dealer's excuse for decades!

        I'm sure that at a glance guys (here) can identify the probable maker considering the outline of the diamond, style of the sweatband and materials utilized for the lining.

          Point taken. It's my understanding that there were the big well-known cap makers (eReL, Pekuro, Holters, etc.) and the little guys who were so small they aren't even referenced in books (Otto Goldeband for instance). What do I call these small frys? BenVK didn't agree when I said "private makers", and apparently "tailored" isn't the right term either. A "smaller-less-well-known-than-eReL-cap-maker-turning-them-out-by-hand-in-a-small-shop-somewhere"?
