    customs "zoll" overseas cap question

Does anybody have a customs ("zoll") overseas cap in their collection to share? (side cap) or otherwise a period picture of one in wear?
I've only seen customs visor cap and "bergmutze" examples. the latter of course as worn by zoll mountain troops...
I'm sure that these "schiffchens" existed as well, (officer's and enlisted), but just never seen what one looks like!
    Thanks!!
    Nick

    Nick,

All the photos I have seen of Zollschutz folks wearing a Schiffchen have them wearing a Heer side cap.

      zoll overseas cap

NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT MY PICTURE!! but I believe it is from a forum member, so I "borrowed" it for illustrative purposes... if that's OK? We're all here to learn!!! Is this an example of a Zoll pattern overseas cap? The insignia looks to be "T" shaped for a bergmutze actually, also depicted here... Nick

There is also a female sidecap. I had photos I sold to a friend of mine who collects female Third Reich things.

Here's some examples of female zoll caps. I believe this is the ONLY cap which had the TR eagle mounted crooked! Nick

Here's a close up of a Zollhelferin cap with the crooked eagle. Ugly!

Actually, the eagle is a piece of the Zoll cuffband with flatwire edges. Very interesting.

GOSH you are right! Wow! That is pretty amazing such "makeshift" cap insignia!!
I'm sure such a set up would be viewed very skeptically by modern day collectors if such a cap turned up somewhere!!! CUt down customs cuff titles can now be sold as zollhelferinnen cap insignia! Great observation!!!
We have a lot to learn still!!! Nick

I think this is a Zoll officer's overseas cap with the wrong insignia on it. Look at the band of green under the officer piping. Tell me what you think!

Chaplain would have more red in the waffenfabre. That looks more medical in the photos. Did the flash "blue" it out? Some chaplain violet (not purple) will get a blue fabeout with some flashes. But if you look in hand, and think it has more blue than red in the color of violet--it is medical

Joesan is right the Chaplins soutashe color would be violet, medical would be purple.
