Question about SS EM visor cap chinstraps

On nearly all of the ss enlisted caps that I have seen, the chinstraps are black with a tan (natural leather) backing. I came across one the other day that is black with a black backing. Has anyone ever seen another like this?

Hi Doug, simple answer, yes, I've seen a few. They're not leather though, more like a coated wood pulp material, perfectly legit though.

I have seen the straps with black on the reverse side, and have at one time owned one. Looking back on the experience of ownership, I wish that I had kept it - they are an extremely rare find in today's world (at least the pre-1945 versions are). Just ask Bob Hritz - he's been looking for one for quite a while as well!
