    Very nice original cap....

Some interesting points regarding early Pekuro caps, matching / close color interior to the under side of the visor, quality devices and likley to shave a DM or two off the price the 'half liner' interior
    Regards,
    Dave

Thanks guys. How do you know its a Pekuro, the one on Relic Hunters site, says Pekuro on the swet shield but this cap says something else. Is it a distributers mark or something?

I'm still new at this, but I believe the overall shape, quality insignia, and the perforations at the front of the sweatband all help to identify the maker as Pekuro. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me!

The main feature is the black material between the s/band and the cap frame. That's the "sturndruckfrei" design feature patented by Pekuro and is always stamped on the shield whether the Pekuro name appears or not.

Gerard also has a mint Artillery officer of the same type. Take a look at this one it is awesome.

I've finally got this cap in hand, and it looks nice.

A couple of things though, BenVK, i cant find any black behind the sweatband, just the card of the sides. Is this ok?

Also there doesnt seem to be a liner, from the sides to the top, again is this normal?

Finally what time frame do you think this is from pre/mid/late war?

Also suggestions for getting its shape back? Seems little squashed sideways.

Will post some more pictures when i've taken them!

No, I meant this black material between the band and cap frame, not behind it.

Some Pekuro's don't have side linings, perfectly normal, don't worry.

                  Ahaaa...thanks Ben, i see now.

One more thing i have noticed is that the buttons holding the chin straps are different sizes. Again, i presume ones been replaced?

Will take photos tomorrow, and post.

Lewis, could be replaced but it's the cap itself that counts really, you've got youself a good one, relax.

The cap looks to be prewar. That type of interior along with nickel insignia would lead me to that conclusion. I would say about 1937/38.
