    WSS NCO Panzer Visor Cap!

Well, I had pretty much resigned myself to never having a color-piped ss visor cap in my collection. I've seen a lot of them, but never a real one... until I found this cap. I know that most of you who read the title of this posting are ready to see another fake that some poor bastard thinks is real. But, I think this one will pass muster. As they say, let the pictures do the talking. This cap shows no signs of ever having had an army wreath or of being 're-banded'.
I'll also post some comparisons to an Army panzer cap by the same maker, albeit a later war cap than the ss cap.
Hope you like it as much as I do.
    Doug

    First, some eye candy...

Pic5... one small moth nip to the piping and a bit of moth grazing on the front below the eagle, but nothing serious.

Pic 6... piping on top and bottom are a bit faded, but the true color shows through on the second row of piping that was shielded from the elements by the overhang.

Now a short comparison to a Paul Kaps Heer Panzer visor. Note that the Heer visor is mint (probably unissued) and is a later war piece, see the later-war stitching style inside and the lack of any cross-hatching on the underside of the visor. But, I think it still makes for a good basis of comparison for the general traits of construction....
