    Feuerlöschpolice Mütze? Is that Right?

What is this hat? I think this is a "Feuerlöschpolice Mütze" but I'm not sure about the color. Is this ww2 period or perhaps post war? Unfortunately this is the only photos I have at the moment. A seller in Germany is offering it for 75 Euro. What do you think of the price?
    Thanks for the help,
    Scott

My 2 cents worth is that this is post war. Attached is my firemans officer visor with early badge on it. Please do a search as Stonemint has posted several nice examples of period firemans visor.

Looking at the hat, it could be an immediate postwar fire officials hat. I had posted this logo as an original variant, but it is out of keeping with the standard Ahlers logo we are all familiar with. I never saw anything to indicate that Ahlers survived the war, but perhaps they did. My history is rusty w/o a map in front of me--was Potsdam occupied by the Soviets?

It could also be a wartime cap that was used postwar (as many where). Many makers used different logos for their civil caps, which were less ornate than their WH products.

Any one else have any thoughts on Ahlers surviving the war?

I don't like it either...These should look something like this; ark blue with black vevet like cap bands! Not grey!! Note that mine also does not have the pink speckling in the chin cords...

Well, I looked it up--Potsdam was in the Soviet-zone, so (imho) this is an Ahlers logo from 45-49, before it was nationalized. In that sense, it does have value, in that it is probably one of the last Ahlers products, and is an early example of DDR headgear. However, it is not a Firepolice visor, as the DDR ones were the same color/material configuration as the TR ones. Try posting it on the DDR forum--they may have some thoughts.
