Here is a M43 hat that came direct from the Canadian Veteran some years ago via a local newspaper ad (and some other items) He was in Normandy at the time.
Appears to have been worn just a few times as with the other items purchased.
Judging by the wool/lining material this one would have probably been manufactured in 44,have seen assault wrappers and some later jackets constructed from the exact wool and lining material.
