    M43 Single Button

    Hi,
have neglected the Cap side of collecting building up a dagger stash for when the Feds finally ban dagger imports. Saw this single button M43 and fell for it was supposed to be a size 57 but more like a 56 or 55, This is the first single button one I have owned are they rarer or more desireable. If by chance is no good let me know as it can be returned was acquired via estand.
    cheers robert,

              cheers robert,

Sir, from those pictures, I would give consideration to returning it.

I have seen period pictures (well, at least one..) of a single button type Heer M-43 before. In my "younger days" I showed one I was interested in purchasing at a show to Mr. Singer which he did not care for. To me, the lining and stamps were spot on. Bryon gave me the same advice and as I am a collector and not a gambler, I heeded that advice. Single button Heer M-43's must be considered a very rare breed -- and M-43's are getting pretty "spooky" in the two-button versions. Bryon, have you ever seen one you were convinced of?

Hi Robert - I would concur with Mr. Singer.

Besides the odd shape and strange wool, the insignia looks reapplied. The fraying you see to the Trap might be from a previous application, especially on the left side. The top stitch looks hand applied to simulate machine zig-zag and on the sides, they just gave up.

To make it more spurious, the same thread was used in cap construction as the Trap application.

                    Hi Johnny,

Indeed, quite an uncommon item to find!

Say, I need your email address, how about sending me a PM??

                    Very Best to you,

                    Bryon (B. N. Singer)
