            m43

            Raffaello,

I was one of the two who mentioned on the other thread that I felt your M43 cap insignia needed to be discussed. This IMO is a fake T insignia that I first saw in the late 1970s in the USA. At the time, you would see these on reenactor caps and other replica m43s. Since it is machine sewn to the cap I would have concerns with it too, as it appears to have been sewn during the assembly process.

Sorry to tell you all of this as I do not relish telling someone that I think an item is fake. Worst part of the hobby for me...

              Marty,

no problem we are here in order to discuss and to understand the exchange
of opinions between collectors, I think this is important .
This M43 was part of an old collection of 20 years behind if this insignia is fake
I can imagine what are is made today!
I would want if it were possible other opinions that they confirm what thinks Marty…
I thought that it was a M43 original the eagle wings of the copy/fake normally
              have the U shape.

P.S. at the Wood lamp the white is correct...

Are the buttonholes missing, or am I going blind?

watching the photos I have see the swastika is not correct the lines
are up and down, this error it would not have to be......

The 'T form' insignia is definitely a reproduction.

Hi Raffaello, I had just commented on this insignia in the other thread, sorry I did not see this one first. Sorry to say the insignia is bad.

                            Cheers, Ade.
