    Pekuro visor...brass Totenkopf?

Greetings: Along with a few German tunics I posted recently, I also picked up a few German visor caps at a local antique shop. This was a about 8 years ago. Not knowing much about visors at that time (helmets are my bag) I have been researching them and I BELIEVE this is a good example of a Pekuro, but this is where the experts come in. Also it has the totenkopf associated with the Regiment 17 and Reiter- Regiment 13. I thought these totenkopfs were always made of silver, this one seems to be constructed of brass or similar material. Is that possible? I look forward to all replies and comments.
    Best Regards
    Zeke

As for the cap. You might have a changed visor on this one. The norm for this Manufacturer would be green underside visor color, to match the inside green. Can you get us more closeup pics?

The hat itself looks good to me, as does the insignia--just make sure there aren't prong holes from the eagle at a lower level, which would indicate that the eagle was moved postwar to make room for the skull. On a lot of brass insignia, the finish does not hold over the years--this is common.
