Not really my area of visors but with out a doubt that visor is period. Definitely not post war.

yes it is original one and Cottbus was in DDR but after 1945

This is a so called "Feldmutze" (resemble the Feldmutze alter Art from the Army), only used by personel with a car. It is an original period piece.

Die Fa. Michovius, eine bedeutende Tuch- und Textilienfirma der Lausitz, ist zu DDR Zeiten verstaatlicht worden. Cottbus war eine bedeutende Garnisonstadt aus dem 18 Jahrhundert und die Herstellung von Uniformen, bezw. Tuche &c. gehoerte zu den handwerklichen bezw fruehindustriellen Taetigkeiten der Gegend.

If there is one area of civil I have a soft-spot for, its always forestry--(maybe because I live in the desert!). I don't believe Michovius ever made their own caps--most I have seen are Schellenbergs and a few Erels. They were THE major forstdienst supplier, and also tailored their own uniforms. I have a pic somewhere of Michovius' factory--I will post it if I can find it.
