With just a "general knowledge" of visors all I can say about the second one is it's looks like the originals I have seen. The stamp on the underside of the visor, the interior color, style of sweat shield, frosting on the eagle/skull. I know these could be faked but it's what one should look like. It was the reasons I had major concerns with the first one, doesn't even compare, even to someone who doesn't collect visors..
I note on bargins and vet stories...
I know it was brought up at the dagger forum that vet stories are cheap. And sad to say, yes they are
I've bought numerious items from vets and their direct/immediate family. But the crooked dealer and even the shady collector have run this excuse into the ground in order to sell something questionable. So it's hard when someone doesn't know you and you try to pass on the info to him so he knows who brought it back, alot of times I've been looked at with a "yeah right, sure". It can be very discouraging and frustrating. It's been abused and alot of collectors don't know what to believe unless they know you and your character..
So yes it's become a cheap statement, but vet and the vets immediate family buys are still out there...

Perry, I always try to take pics of the vet with his stuff, get him to write the story down, etc.
The storys some people invent on E bay and els where to sell crap, are sometimes incredible, very imaginative. They have to create a story that sound so original that you will say: "he cant have made that up".

        vet stories

You're right on the money, Perry. If the item is obviously right
and the story is plausible, I'll pass it along if I sell or trade it
later. If the story is BS, it'll stop there. We've all heard some
        hum-dingers...

Good tip, Jean-Loup! I've done that when it was convenient.
