NCO inf cap and panzer cap

    Added pictures please see below,

    Hello all,

I have never bought a cap such as this and two were offered to me today. I would just like to ask you if the price asking is fair or not. The first is a battle worn infantry nco cap. No rips or damage to the outside. The inside liner is broken in 3 spots but is there. Price asking is $450 Can or about $430 US

The panzer is all ok, battle worn no damage but not mint condition, just average wear conditon. Also an NCO. The price for that is $900 Can or about $850US. Can you please help me with this?

Do you have to buy both?

I would leave the infantry cap alone and wait for one in better condition.

The Pz sounds better but I still think the seller is asking a bit too much. I'd start haggling at $700.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunatelly I'm at the bottom quality of collecting. I'd rather have one in rougher condition for a good deal. The panzer is for sure out of my league. No I don't have to buy both. The infantry i might be able to do, but is it a good buy for that much. Like I said the liner is broken in 3 spots but you can't see that from the outside....
I just don't want to go and buy it for $400 Can, thnk its a steal, and then someone is going to tell me that for another $50 I could alway find one or one that is in very nice shape...

I'm afraid that this will almost certainly happen. Inf. NCO caps come along quite often and I'm sure you could get a real nice one for $450.

I agree with Dave. You're not going to go wrong with the one on Estand. (and I don't even know the seller) It's a good solid, good maker, "one looker" with some character. I would guess even as you develop your collection, you'll still keep this one. Much better than one which is "broken". Good luck.

My advise for a new headgear collector who doesn't have much money to spend would be to try to buy the best quality cap you can at that time. One you can get your money out of, if and when you're ready to upgrade your collection. A nice Erel, like mentione by Ben, would be a great starter cap. You will also be able too use this cap as a point of reference, when making future Erel purchases. Remember these caps are highly reproduced and are made to fool the beginnning collector. So having one in your collection could save you money in the future.

The one on estand is the best buy I have seen in a while. The early Erel's are hard to find. Jump on it.
