    A-SS Crusher cap

Here is a nice crusher that I got from an old estate some years ago. I have tried to find a similar so I could price it for my home insurance. Can anyone tell me a approx insurance value.
Cap is in VERY good condition with no flaws. I also have the early eagle(SA type) and skull. I guess that the wearer decided to modernize the cap in the late 30's. Luckily he kept the all the insignia.
    Thanks!

    Please post more photos!

Not that they are needed to be honest IMO. A one looker in my eyes from this one photo. I would guess that we're looking at a pre RZM cap? 1933 or 34? The wool is spot on for this period. Exactly how it should be and the fact that you also have the earlier insignia which would have been attached originally, backs up your statement. (How did you come to have these as well just out of interest?)

Value for insurance? at least $6000 I think.

      sch******246;nbeck,
From the photograph it looks like a solid original SS hat but it is a standard early service cap and not a crusher (field) cap.

Just from this photo I would jump on this cap. Funny how much an collectible item can jump in your eye and you just like it. Such a cap is way harder to find then the standard EM visor cap, doesn't metter with red weather cloth inliner or in the white private purchased version.

Thanks guys, will try to post better shots later.

About the cap. I got a message from a older guy, whos wifes father had a large amount of stuff. They should throw away a lot of that he said. I was a bit sceptical since its a 2,5 hour drive from here. Anyhow I decided to go. I came to an old house and he had prepared 20 banana boxes with stuff, plus tons of art.(I'm a artcollector also). I started to check trough the boxes and immediately found some badges, the first one was a "SA Treffen Braunschweig 1931", next some partbadges, armbands, all very early. Also numerous letters but the contents had been removed by him, he said that the material were sensitive. In the next box I found this cap, the older insigna(skull and eagle) were wrapt in paper and put inside the cap. Well i dont know how much stuff it was, but I can say a lot. There had been a dagger but he couldnt find it.(now thats bad.)
I had to go there twice to collect it all. There was some really good german expressionists there(great artists), dating back to the 20-30's. So everything match.
The guy was quite wealthy and just wanted to get rid of the stuff, the price was good, very good.

                  That's a real beaut.

It's a thing like that that makes this collecting lark worthwhile.

Great find. Imagine if you didn't make that trip that day. Those boxes might have all been thrown out and lost forever. Good Save
