    Gbj visor

    Hello all,
This visor was found with other items (full story in uniforms forum).
I know the edelweiss is not in the usual position, i believe it has been there all the time as there are two holes a little higher for the eagle but no other holes for this edelweiss, maybe this was the wearers preference. I don't know if there was any set rules for this. As it was found with a tunic which many people have confirmed as original, then i think this was the case!
    Opinions welcome.
    Many thanks,
    Lee

here is a link that i hope works!!

From the pics it appears to be a nice Aug. Muller cap with a very peculiar sweatband. I wonder what the others have to say about it.

Certainly looks good at first glance. The imprinted logo looks correct.

I wonder what that sweatband is all about. It has piercing that reminds me of a Kriegsmarine sweatband. Is that a multi-color emboss in the leather? Never seen that before.

No doubt a Muller and a good one. The sweatband might be period replaced or a custom one. It is not the type generally found on Mullers. By the same token it does not look replaced either. The edelwiess is odd too but who knows. It might have been stripped of insignia and replaced. ????

Looks like an original one to me too. Obviously the SB and Edel. are a bit odd, as mentioned before.

I like what I see. It looks like some of the lettering on the sb has discolored due to verdigris. The KM-style sb, while rare, was used on other hats during the TR. Mullers are one of the more desirable makers, imho.
