First, I do not have pics of the visor but will describe as best I can what I observed.
Waffen SS NCO visor.
Size 56 1/2 marking under the sweatshield.
Blue size 57 in a circle marking stamped on the reverse side of the band, left hand side holding the visor with the visor facing up. The marking was similar to what you would see on a helmet liner stamp size.
The VI markings near a quadrant marking on the left hand side again, of the visor. VI is 56, correct?
The liner had the exact same SS sig runes on the circular background and size markings as an Allgemeine SS visor but in black covering the gold. Some black was worn off exposing the gold. This is normally not seen in a WSS visor I understand.
I believed this to be a Frankenstien visor. Materials otherwise seemed to be correct, chincord, visor, insignia I am sure was correct but had metal reinforcement behind the insignia which I have never seen before but then I have not handled many visors as experienced collectors on this forum.
Was I on the right track or is this something seen on the rare 1/2 size early visors.
Sorry no pics.
