Sorry this is fake. Bill shape, & underside wrong, is not attached correctly, sweatband lacking, grommet false aging, stiching incorrect among other things, makers mark and size stamp missing too. Cockade may be good.

Your points are good Tim, but remember, the early caps do not have sweat bands. This cap was an attempt to copy an early model.
