    Cap size question.

Can anyone please enlighten me as to the significance of Roman numerals found inside a visor cap?
The characters 'XIII' (13) are written in ,what looks like tailors chalk, on the pasteboard of my visor and I have often wondered how this would correlate (if at all) with the usual metric sizing system.

    Cheers...

Cheers Nick ,just had another look & it most likely is a 'V' (looks like it was written quite quickly)...There are no other size markings on the cap, but it would be about a 58, as it fits me perfectly.
Was this system of hat sizing common on TR visors?

Very common. You will find the size markings on the linings on many, many private purchase caps. I would even say the majority.
