Bahnschutzpolizei NCO cap

Hi guys!

I'm out of my element when it comes to head gear. So I'm here to ask for some help.

I have been offered a Bahnschutzpolizei peaked cap. It's the NCO model with metal insignia and a leather chin strap.

On the ouside it looks very nice with no readily apparent damage such as mothing. There is one hole at the back where the top meets the band. Looking at it from the inside the sweat diamond is gone but the grey liner is all there and in good shape. The leather sweat band is there but loose at the front and what looks to be a small burn (?) opposite the small hole mentioned above. All in all it doesn't look bad and otherwise shows well. There is no staining or other problems than those mentioned.

I don't have pics available at this time.

What is a reasonable value for this type of hat. A high and low range if you would venture that.

I appreciate any help posible.

I would say on the high end being a mint one $700 going down to about $400.

They generally go in the $750 range on dealer's sites. Mint ones are very hard to find, and even more difficult is an Officer's in mint condition--most have been frankensteined into W-SS.

I really appreciate your input. At least now I have some workable perameters in the way of a value.

I'm a medalhead and edged weapons guy. Hats, uniforms and other cloth are not my forte.
