I doubt you saw it in Struttgart this year since it came out of mr.Stiles of Hanna`s reich personal collection this year.
What the date stamp says, look above for details...

A couple of questions for you SS guys regarding chinstraps.
      1. Was it common for SS chinstraps to be dated?
      2. Was the date reflective of when the strap was made or the cap?

          NTZ,
In my own experience I have only seen the official stamp of the RZM on chinstraps affixed to SS caps. That particular stamp indicates the category, the manufacturer and the year of manufacture of the chinstrap, i.e. L10/---/39.

Same here, I've not often seen any other markings except for the RZM stamp on chinstraps.

Fantastic cap by the way, ultra rare and in very nice condition.

... yes very nice visor especailly with a date before the colored branch visors getting introduced and with a seaming all over the place (pic.10).
              Guys make your homework!

Because of Mr. Stiles fantastic reputation and my personal respect for his vast knowledge of SS material I would give this visor every chance in the world. Some bad visors can be spotted with a high degree of accuracy via photos and some can not. This is one that I surely would not want to judge just based on a few pics. When I seen this shot I felt a little weird about it. Is this just a bad camera angle? I think Robert and I spotted the same thing.

What is the orange piping made of? It looks funny in all of your pictures, almost like a cord.

The eagle is IMO a zink Assmann.

                      Hi all collectormates

A 39 stamped chinstrap on a early 40 cap does not make this bad at all IMO.
I can not record that all visor parts was made and used only on visors produced from jan.19XX to dec.19XX.
The same thing can regard for exsample tunics and buttons, etc.

For the record there was produced colored piped visors after Himmler`s regulation of not wearing it any more, (and it would not suprise me if it was made before also...)

Regarding the "seaming all over the place" I guess Mr.Hassler is talking about the joints of the piping wich is not done like some few other colerpiped visor known.
Where is the regulations to this ? I must strongly say that an other variant is not the same as a copy visor. Not saying that was your point.

The colorepiping is made of cloth, and there is no metal or "wood" inside, just cloth.

About the angle, the picture was taken with an angle.

I will post some more for you regarding this.
                      Cheers

Not many have seen good colore piped visors, even less have had one in hand.

I would like to see some documentation with conserning no originality opinions, not just vauge thoughts based on nothing in real.

Showing a very rare ss visor deserve that don`t you agree?

The Images Alone Do Not Leave Me With A Level Of Comfort With This Visor. Some Things I Like. Somethings I Do Not. I Would Opt For A Hands On For Final Judgement. Right Now, For Me, There Are Too Many Inconsistant Factors With This Hat To Give It A Thumbs Up.

                              Hi BoB
Can you please talk about your feelings cause they summa summarum leave this IMO 100% original visor as a bad one. Enlighten me with pictures and documentations for comparement to the other colore piped visors you have.

There exist little documentation on these colore piped visors so I hope you will post all your picture and documentation for proving your vague feelings, if not then I am not getting any wiser...

                                Hi all,

I know that I'm very new in this collecting buisness and still have very much to learn. (I'm learning something new almost every day thanks to this forum and the knowledgeable people here)

Regarding the cap, I just have a few books in this subject, but I haven't really been able to find any flaws at all...
As I've said, I still have much to learn, but with the knowledge I have, and what I can see on the pics, I really like the cap!
