    Bob,

If you do a "search" on this Forum for "KZ Lager cap" (or something similar), you will find a cap once owned by a regular participant here - it is a very impressive piece (although I have never personally seen it myself) in photographs. Take a look at it, and I'd really appreciate your response about it's construction solely based on the pics. I've always liked the cap myself, but I've never been confident in my own judgement on these things . . . . this would be a great opportunity to get your take on it with all of the experiences you have had!

Just out of curiosity, I'd really like to hear what you would have to say about it . . .

    Brad

P.S. It's great having guys like you still courteous enough to keep participating in spreading your experiences about on these Forums - not too many people like yourself are that "generous" these days any longer . . .

      Bob (and everyone else),

Sorry about being so vague in my direction - here is the link:

Check it out and let me know what you think - this could be a lead to the first one that you may have ever seen!

Personally I always though that visor was right as rain.

The only thing is, I am not sold on it being KZ piped. I always thought it was either a faded recon or a dirty white piped. That is just my opinion, those who had it in hand would no better. Speaking of dirty white piped, take a look at Karl Bohmer’s visor in Beavers book (vol. 1). It is a white piped visor but in the photos looks just like the KZ.

Its a Karl Naubert piece, and I believe everyone agrees that it is original.
Based on pics, I don't see anything that leads me to believe otherwise.

BTW, doesn't some dealer have a KZ officers for sale somewhere?

I always believed it to be correct all the way - even KZ piped! There must be at least ONE of these out there somewhere, right? They did exist . . .

Nick, the Karl Bohmer visor is pink piped. However, it does look a bit brown in Beavers book.

These photos courtesy of the current owner.

Tony there is a perfect example of how pics can deceive. I would have never guessed pink from the pic in Beavers book.

I wonder if the owner of the Bohmer visor will ever sell? If I were going to pick up an SS I would go after a high-end piece like this. Not to mention Muller is my third favorite maker.
