                          Bob C--I was always of the opinion that the embroidered-wreath NSDAP visors were originally a bright bullion, which just dulled with age. In my latest Arndt Verlag book, there is a pic of a PL with an embroidered wreath, and it is obvious that they were originally a copper-bronze color, and never the bright gilt I thought they were:
