Hi,
Posted this crashhelmet in other forums allready but thought I'd post it here also..
It is a Crash helmet for Polizei panzer crewmen. It was introduced around 1938 and discontinued in late 1942. So it only saw use for a short period of time.
In the early days of the war the Polizei Panzer units were small in number. Later in the war the Polizei Panzer units expanded in response to the growing threats of Partisans. By that time this helmet was allready discontinued.
Its construction is different from the Motorized Police crashelmets in that it never had a visor nor did it ever have a neckprotector.
The bump pad that surrounds the Vulcanfiber shell is thicker at the front; a feature that can also nicely be seen in period photographs.
ohhh.........and it is a genuine "EREL Sonderklasse" by Robert Lubstein
Please enjoy and let me know what you think.
