Stonemint is the resident Pekuro expert. This type of Pekuro had been discussed before. There are a few detractors that do not like this type and I must say that I am in that group. I think this one could have some interesting comments. IMO it is not cut and dry.

Do you have any more pics of the inside under the sweatband. I am trying to see if the lining has the famed Pekuro ribbing.

            Hello Gentlemen,
The color of the piping is always a question with these. In my opinion, this appears to be Admin. Certainly, it could be Mountain Admin.
            Thanks,

I noticed that too. I actually bought the late war Pekuro Scott was selling, and I have it in hand now. I like it, and believe as does Stonemint, that it is "right as rain." It looks just like an early war Pekuro, but lacking the sweat shield. I do not believe it ever had one as I can detect no stitching holes.
With this Visor under discussion, I note several differences besides the absence of cross-hatching on the underside of the visor. The lining material color does not seem right, nor does the color of the sweatband.
A point in it's favor is the velvet insert between the cap and the sweatband, something you want to see with Pekuros. I too would like an under the hood shot of the material to see if it is pleated or ribbed. My late war is ribbed.
At this point, I hesitate to dismiss it as post war, but there are a few details which make me nervous.

Exactly, I want to wait to hear other comments before I get into the lining and sweatband but it is coming.

There is just something about this hat that I don't like.

                        hello NTZ,

Question about the cross hatch of a visor....
My Pekuro Luft.visorcap has a visor made of pressed cardboard,I know that some visorcaps were produced with these pressed, cardboard visors.
And these visors were not crosshatched......they had a smooth, black underside
I don´t say the visor on this cap is made of pressed cardboard, actually I think it´s made of plastic, but we have to see more, detailed pictures of it before we say it´s a go or a no-go.

Do you have any visors in your collection made of pressed cardboard?

                        Regards,

                        Theo

I have owned a pressed paper and I have no problems with them on the right caps. This one is not pressed paper IMO, in fact it is the exact type found on 60's, 70's fakes. There is more to this lid I just am looking for more discussion first.
