Well, gents, here we have definitive proof that a NON-general's OT visor did exist, courtesy of Tim. Simply the rarest of the rare, and completely unreferenced:

Surprised no one has commented on this rare photo.
Just curious what you all think.

Tim, unfortunately, it is part of the changing dynamics of the hobby. Most are only interested in the combat arms.

(Funny how 20 years ago collectors were falling all over themselves to get Railway, Red Cross, and Postal daggers...)

Could this be an OT officer's visor? I bought it from a fellow WAF member stripped... and added regular Heer insignia...The holes matched perfectly!
Cap was made outside of the Reich (Holland, city of Maastricht) and the initial thought was that it was SPeer or NSKK related...

Brown body and chocolate brown cap band! Silver piping!
The silver piping (upper+lower) along the cap band is loosely applied (partially visible)
Maybe OT??? If toese indeed existed? Many many OT members were foreigners....Great thread btw!

Nick, in light of Tim's picture, and the exact placement of the holes, it seems that the most likely explanation would be an OT officer visor.

The answer will be found deep within the bowels of some obscure OT regs, as of yet undiscovered.....

Could be Speer transport is another option...In Heer support service they used standard Heer cap insignia...
Again a unit with many foreigners...so a foreign tailored cap makes sense!
Speer on the other hand was formed (break-away from NSKK) late September 1944... and the cap maker's city
(Maastricht Netherlands) was liberated by the US Army in September 1944... so that probably eliminates Speer...
its from an earlier (NSKK) period, so NSKK or otherwise Org Todt! Only 2 "German" options remaining!

Unless it is related to the obscure Dutch "NOC" Nederlandsche Oost Companie unit!
= Netherlands East Company, a "Dutch" unit possibility! (Dutch colonization of occupied Russia personnel...)

They were authorized in 1944 to wear Heer eagles and cockardes on their German style visors in greenish-brown wool,
(see image!). Their uniforms had silver trim matching the cap piping and were loosely patterned after the German RMBO
(Ost Ministerium)... so a brown cap band make sense with that scenario! Who knows?
