    Luftwaffe Visor variation.

Here's a pic of Anton Hackl, his visors edging looks like it has a double row of stitching. It also looks like he is wearing an American A-2 flight jacket with a bullion breast eagle applied.

    Regards,
    Mike

Toni Hackl loved his A2 jacket. I think I have seen more pics of him wearing it than not! As for the hat, it looks like you're right.

Hello, myself, Id take that flight jacket over the RK/OL any day. I have seen other Luft pics showing the hat brims with the edging removed. My belief is that was done to make the brim more bendable/flexible. I own a semi crushed visor with the brim edge removed. My guess is somewhere in the world of collecting there is an A2 converted Luftwaffe jacket in someones fortunate collection, most desirable. Best, Bill Bourque

I think the cap is a good one..

Yes,many pics show caps with the edges removed.., I personally think the stitching snapped at a point through handling the visor and the edge came loose and then was fully removed...or re-sewn, which might be the case in the pic..,very sloppy done though.
