    Officer gebirgsjäger visor

I'm in the opportunity for buying an off gebirgs visor. What would be a fair price for it, knowing it is an absolutely mint doeskin Erel with the edelweiss between cocade and eagle.

    Regards

Depending on how mint, mint is. I would pay $1,600+ In fact if you get it for less and want to sell for a quick profit let me know.

At $1600, I'll buy it! Seriously, most US dealers would be charging in the 2K range for a mint one.

BTW, you know what the most insanely-priced hat on the web right now?
A LW Officers Erel Privat for $3400 on Ulric of England (its in the "exotica" section)--nothing like charging 2015 prices in 2007.
(On the other hand, it has to make Mike Heuer feel real good about re-acquiring that visor back from Burmeister!)

Ahh the Erel premium, and I though I was the only fool throwing an extra 20% at a visor because it was an Erel.

A true 'collector' will always pay a premium for quality, original items

We can buy crap, drek and rags at any time...the stuff isn't rare but the nice items that people wait in line for continue to demand the max. $$$$ and attention.

I have said it hundreds of times.....ONE special piece will outshine 100 lesser items!

            Dave

              Stonemint,

Thanks for the comment -- I am, indeed, very happy to have the Erel back in my possession. Jason is a top notch dealer and was true to his word.

Mike, I'm still shocked that you ever let that baby go--has to be the nicest LW Erel on this side of the Atlantic

                  ...

You're right -- it is. But I was selling the entire collection and was having a weak moment.

Here is another I sold -- Jason still has it, I believe. A Clemens Wagner still in the cardboard box.

Note and remember....how the Eagle is 'part' of the cap!! These little details are so important

By the way, I bought it for $ 1050

Steiner that is a great price. I bought a Clemens Wagner mountain from Gerard 4 years ago for $990.00.

Let's see some pics of this one, you have done a sale of the century with this buy.
