I did not have an explanation for the address that seems to me to start with the R and ends with the house number 14. I tried all the streets of Freiburg in 1939 with such features but I did not find Ritter. The explanation is the change of address during the war to Rosastr. 14 (as you can see from the 1943 adressbuch, but he still continued to reside at his previous address also):

Having established this, a classification can be attempted:

- in the TR period there is a production of extramützen signed stirndruckfrei meisterstück or meisterstück extraklasse, imprinted in black. Then there is the cheapest class with only the logo and the Hammaburg inscription printed in silver with the wasserdicht lining.

- after the war we have many colorful and attractive variations: Wappen von Hamburg printed on a life ring; Kent (both with the zig-zag sewn oval sweatshield); Hammaburg-mütze with the smiling sailor (this latter type associated with a similar Marke ODD lining type); finally the classic simple logo inscribed in a circle and printed in white on the lining without the sweatshield. We have also a net of identified retailers: Kossack of Rendsburg; Hoepfner from Lübeck; Lorenzen of Büsum Wesselburen.
