I have a Kaufhaus C.A. Brüggen GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1882 by Clemens August Brüggen in Bachstraße 4 and currently still in the retail sale business of suits, coats, dresses, and home furnishings in Alte Münsterstrasse 4, Ibbenbüren.

Here is my incomplete reconstruction of the logos of this company and its nachfolger = successor. The history of this company is quite confusing because information are very scarce. During the war Wilhelm Spechtmeyer (kürschner and mützenmacher) was certainly located in Cuxhaven, Hindenburgstr. 16 and used a very simple but stylish logo (no. 1). Probably he moved in Deichstr. 16 with his full name, but suddenly appeared a very different and and much more seafaring logo (no. 2). At some point (which I am unable to temporally place) the company was releaved and inherited by a certain Franz Seib (no trace of him in the wartime business) in Deichstr. 16 who used a very similar logo (no. 4 and 5) and is apparently nowadays still in the clothing business at the same address. Now, it is difficult to draw conclusions from a single image. Your logo (no. 3) fits into the new type of which (if no. 2 is original …), however it is impossible (at least to me) to give a precise dating. All things considered, it is credible, however, as here we are certainly talking about a KM visor, it would be important to see all the images of this cap, in order to ascertain that it is not a post-war visor perhaps reborn with a certain advance . . .
