Hammel Josef (proprietors Hans & Ferdinand Hammel, probably relatives of Hammel Josef sr. - proprietors Karl & Theodor in Karlstr. 19), am Buttermarkt 10, from the 1937 Fulda adressbuch:

I like this visor even if there are some details worthy of further study, in case some friends own another sample in their collections:
- the oakleaves & cockade are not coeval in my humble opinion
- the padding and overhang are minimal but probably a feature of this seller at that time
- the logo graphics are antiquated, always with reference to the period
- I see some empty holes in the conjunction of the peak underside with the front sweatband. Perhaps a repair that produced a very sloping peak?

Consequently I agree with you that this is a true (not postwar) Brendler’s output.

Something about commercial navy or a yacht club. I do not know the Afrika disk inside the wreath.
